The Heating Devices of the Approved Households are Being Replaced in Ruse Municipality

The heating devices of the households in Ruse municipality, which have been approved within the framework of the Integrated Project under the Program LIFE – “Bulgarian Municipalities Working Together to Improve Air Quality” are currently being replaced. The installation of the new heating devices in the homes of the 63 households, approved during the Pilot Phase, commenced on November 5of this year. The target number of households from Ruse municipality, which are participating in the scheme, is 1468.
A schedule has been prepared for the delivery and installation of the new heating devices using pellets and gas. Officials from the “Ecology” Department are coordinating the overall replacement process and the signing of the contracts with final beneficiaries.
The Scheme provides grant financing for the delivery and installation of the eligible equipment as well as for training in its operation. The scheme also finances a one-time prophylactic at the end of the first year after delivery and installation of the heating device. The five-year warranty only applies if the final beneficiaries abides by the rules for maintenance and operation. 
The old heating devices will be taken away from the households and will be transported for recycling and recovery.
The goal of the mandatory submission of the old heating equipment is to avoid its re-sale and re-use.
