The deliveries and installation of the new heating devices commenced for the 58 households from Veliko Turnovo, which qualified during the Pilot Phase of implementation of the Integrated Project “Bulgarian Municipalities Working Together to Improve Air Quality”. Each of the approved applicants will receive them free of charge, while the activities of removal of the old heating devices is also free. The provision of the new heating devices was slightly delayed due to the procedures executed under the Public Procurement Act. The installation of the pellet heating devices will continue over the following month; until the end of December the gas heating devices will be installed as well.
The new household heating devices are provided to the households completely free of charge and have a five-year warranty.
During the next phase of the project (the Main Phase), the number of encompassed households in Veliko Turnovo will reach 548. All activities will be completed by October 2024. With the support of the Program LIFE of the European Union, grant funding has been allocated within the framework of the project for delivery and installation of new heating equipment in the homes of the approved applicants. The new heating devices may be one of the following type: pellet fireplace, pellet stove with water jacket, pellet boiler with water jacket, gas boiler, gas convector, steel panel radiators. The dismantling of the old heating equipment using wood and coal, its removal from the home and transportation for recycling, are also provided to the households free of charge
